Churches vandalized in Argentina

On September 25 the Church of St. Ignatius of Loyola in the Buenos Aires community Montserrat was vandalized. On September 27 the Methodist Church of Rosario was set on fire.

On the floor before the altar of the Church of St Ignatius with paint the text was written: "The only church that gives light is a burning church." This threat was realized two days later in Rosario where the Methodist church completely was burnt down. Many books and documents were lost. The premises of the church were shared by the Methodist congregation and the Ecumenical Movement for Human Rights.

In no uncertain words our member organisation in Argentina, the Confraternidad Argentina Judeo Cristiana, has condemned these obvious anti-Christian acts of violence.  They stated: “Jews and Christians together will continue to raise their voices against these actions that undermine human dignity. ...All Argentineans have the obligation to strive ceaselessly for confirmative action and cooperation. This will be, from now on, one of our strongest commitments.”
