The ICCJ Gathers in Cyberspace!

With its unique expertise in the field of Jewish-Christian relations and an unequalled network of dialogue practitioners from around the world, the ICCJ is best positioned to offer a virtual conference (June 20-23 + 27) that will be different from many other online events you have participated in this last year.

We have spared no effort to gather the ICCJ family, our 34 member organizations, and our partners and friends to create a learning opportunity and encounter experience that will be unforgettable.
Our virtual conference on the theme "When All This Is Over, How Do We Want The World To Be Different?" will start on Sunday, June 20 with our multimedia and interactive Open House event "around the globe and around the clock", which frames the two opening plenaries that will address the conference theme in very different ways:

Opening Plenaries (with simultaneous translation English – French / German / Spanish)

1. Sunday, June 20, 7:00 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. UTC:
Rabbi Lea Shakdiel (Israel) and Dr Emmanuel Nathan (Australia):
"If Not Now, When? Reflections on the Common Task of Healing Our Fractured World"
The speakers will reflect theologically and dialogically on practical responses to the challenges and opportunities of the present moment.

2. Sunday, June 20, 4:p.m. – 5:30 p.m. UTC:
Rabbi Noam Marans (USA) and Bishop Dr Michael Ipgrave (UK):
"Particularity and Universality: Lessons from the Pandemic"
The speakers will share their thoughts and experiences on what religions have learned and how they have adapted to the global health crisis, both separately and interreligiously.

Workshops
The two following days, Monday June 21 and Tuesday June 22, will be filled with more than twenty workshops presented by our various member organizations — some in their native languages —, by our partners and several scholars with a strong connection to the ICCJ family and to our conference theme. You can peruse the workshop program on the conference website and participate in as many as you wish, hopefully many!

Concluding Plenary (with simultaneous translation English – French / German / Spanish)

Wednesday, June 23 from 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. UTC:
Dr Mary Boys, SNJM (USA) and Rabbi Dr Dalia Marx (Israel):
"Psalms in the Time of COVID: Prayer that Makes Us Human"
The entire conference will come together with a view toward the future by asking: What psalm text comes to mind when you think of the experience of the past year? Participants will be invited to contribute to composing a new psalm as Jews and Christians.

The plenary webinars on Sunday and Wednesday and parts of the Open House program will be offered with simultaneous translation English - French / German / Spanish.

We are sparing no effort to make this a truly international event and hope to be honored by your participation.
It will not be like gathering in a city and recreating the very special atmosphere of our annual conferences, but it will be an event not to be missed and we are very much looking forward to greeting you in large numbers. Please welcome friends who could not ordinarily fly to a physical conference to become part of the ICCJ family!

And when all this is over, we cordially invite you to experience on Sunday, June 27, at 5 p.m. UTC the live online performance "Pandemics Now and Then" of the improvisational theater troupe "Talmud on Stage".
