Confronting September 11: Prayers for Peace
In commemoration of the tenth anniversary to the tragedy of the September 11 attacks, the International Abrahamic Forum of the ICCJ wishes to share with you some reflections, prayers and thoughts written by Muslims, Christians and Jews in response to the horrific terror attacks. Many years already the ICCJ is engaged in trilateral dialogue. Conferences in Salamanca (1986), Berlin (1999), Sevilla (2001), Utrecht (2003) and Istanbul (2010) were dedicated to the Jewish/Christian/Muslim dialogue. In 1995 an Abrahamic Forum started its activities, chaired by the late Sheikh Zaki Badawi.
New Council of Christians and Jews in Peru
On June 27, 2011, at 18.00 hrs. in Lima, Peru, a meeting was held at the premises of the ‘ Asociación Judía de Beneficencia y Culto De 1870’. Those assembled decided to take the initiative to improve the Jewish-Christian relations in Peru. Following relevant suggestions, it was agreed to establish the ‘Confraternidad Judeo-Cristiana del Perú’ with the following aims:
Interreligious commemoration of ‘10 year 9/11’
Ten years ago the terrible attacks of 9/11 occurred. These attacks changed the world. Wars and attacks followed the events of 9/11. Hundreds of thousands worldwide became victim of this violence, in particular Muslims in Afghanistan and Iraq, but also citizens of London, Madrid and Istanbul.

By special arrangement with the National Council of Synagogues and the Secretariat for Ecumenical and Interreligious Affairs of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, the Council of Centers on Christian-Jewish Relations is happy to announce that the video series, Walking God's Paths: Christians and Jews in Candid Conversation can now be viewed online through the CCJR website. This makes a very useful educational tool available for use in congregations and classrooms around the world.

We, the Abrahamic Forum of the ICCJ share these feelings as we embark on our new project of reviving the Abrahamic Forum as a trilateral Jewish-Christian-Muslim committee within the ICCJ.
ICCJ 2011 Conference Cracow: Lectures and Presentations

Cracow Conference successful.
Some 180 participants gathered from July 3-6 in Cracow Poland, to attend the annual conference of the International Council of Christians and Jews. This conference on ' Religions and Ideologies' was organized in cooperation with the Faculty for International and Political studies of the Cracovian Jagiellonian University.
New ICCJ Board elected.
During the 57th ICCJ Annual General Meeting, held on Thursday July 7 at the Qubus Hotel in Cracow, elections for the ICCJ Executive Board had to take place. The ICCJ Constitution states that ICCJ Executive members serve the organization for a three year term and only can be re-elected once in the same position. Two board members stepped down. Mrs. Gunnel Borgegard from Sweden and Rabbi Andrew Goldstein from Great Britain. Gratitude was expressed for their involvment in ICCJ for many years.
Prime Minister of Hesse visits Israel
The Prime Minister of the German Federal State of Hesse visited Israel last week. The Christian-Democrat Mr. Volker Bouffier headed a delegation of thirty. Among many other items on his program, there were two interfaith activities. A meeting with local interfaith activists at Tantur Institute and a long Erev Shabbat meeting, including Shabbat service and dinner, at Yedidya synagogue, the congregation of ICCJ President Dr. Deborah Weissman.
