Our French member organization, the Amitié Judéo-Chrétienne de France (ACJF), has lost of its honourees. Father Bernard Dupuy, who died on October 3, 2014, had, together with Chief Rabbi René Samuel Sirat, received the ACJF’s Prize in 1998, on the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the Amitié judéo-chrétienne de France.

Dear members of the ICCJ family, I am delighted to send this first message as president of the ICCJ as Jews around the world prepare to observe the Days of Awe, from Rosh Hashanah to Yom Kippur.

At the conclusion of its 2014 international conference in Buenos Aires, the ICCJ conferred the Sternberg Interfaith Gold Medal “Peace Through Dialogue” upon Dr Deborah Weissman, its outgoing president, at the conclusion of her six-year term.

Shalom from Jerusalem. I never expected that my last month in office as President of the ICCJ would be like this. I want to thank all of the people who have sent good wishes and expressed their concern about the fighting in Israel and in Gaza.

A few weeks ago members of the Young Leadership Council board met in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to work on the details for our upcoming YLC conference in Uruguay. The conference will be take place in Centro Emmanuel, a Christian retreat center in Colonia Valdense, not far from the 2014 ICCJ conference in Buenos Aires.
